2011 Turnpoint Randwick Guineas – Field & Form

The long awaited Randwick Guineas, or the Turnpoint Guineas as they are now known, is just over 24 hours away and Races.com.au have put together the best 2011 Randwick Guineas field and form.

The Group 1 Randwick Guineas is worth $500,000 in prize money and is run over a distance of 1,600 metres.

The 2011 Randwick Guineas will run as Race 6 on Randwick Guineas Day at Warwick Farm and is due to jump at 4.25pm (AEDST).

Current favourite for the 2011 Randwick Guineas is Grahame Begg’s Ilovethiscity, who is currently paying $2.40 for the win at Luxbet.

Ilovethiscity won his last start in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes and has posted prolific victories in his young career.

The three-year-old colt will jump from the ideally suited barrier five in the 2011 Randwick Guineas and appears to be the best of this already classy field.

Open an account with our most trusted online bookmaker Luxbet and you can receive a free bet worth $400 when you quote the promo code BONUS400.

This is because Luxbet are matching all initial deposits with a free bet of that value, all the way up to $400.

Why not have a go at putting your free $400 bet on Ilovethiscity to win the 2011 Randwick Guineas and you could walk away with winnings of $960!

2011 Turnpoint Randwick Guineas Form Guide

#1 Ilovethiscity – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 3rd race this prep
  • Career: 10-3-2-1
  • Ilovethiscity is fresh off a fantastic win in the Hobartville Stakes last start and appears to be in top form. The midfield gate will suit him perfectly.

#2 Pressday – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 3rd race this prep
  • Career: 10-5-0-1
  • Pressday is likely to struggle with the wide gat here, especially after his recent antics that saw him miss the kick by more than two lengths in the Hobartville Stakes.

#3 Retrieve – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 2nd-up
  • Career: 10-4-2-3
  • A further distance may be better suited to Retrieve but her is certainly in great form and has a perfect second up record.

#4 Skilled – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 3rd race this prep
  • Career: 12-3-2-3
  • Skilled has put in excellent runs in both starts so far this prep. He has a better barrier here and will be a big threat to the favourite.

#5 Masquerader

  • Scratched

#6 Praecido – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 3rd race this prep
  • Career: 15-1-2-2
  • Praecido showed a lot of improvement second-up last start and you have to imagine that he will continue to get better.

#7 Top Drop – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 6th race this prep
  • Career: 14-2-5-1
  • Top Drop didn’t deliver last start in the Hobartville Stakes, despite being given every chance. Blinkers will go back on here.

#8 Goldstone – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 3rd race this prep
  • Career: 8-1-1-0
  • Goldstone ran well at this track on debut and has indicated he will be a good galloper in the future. Just not sure if this is his race.

#9 Absolutelyawesome – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 2nd-up
  • Career: 5-1-0-1
  • Absolutelyawesome performed well in the Group CS Hayes Stakes last start after settling last due to his wide barrier, and the inside gate here will mean he has  much more of a chance.

#10 Shootoff – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 3rd race this prep
  • Career: 10-1-0-1
  • Shootoff is best suited to this distance and  a damp track would certainly work to his advantage.

#11 Light Brigade – Bet at Luxbet now

  • 3rd race this prep
  • Career: 6-2-1-1
  • Light Brigade’s pedigree suggests he needs at least another 400m in distance to be at his best, but should finish better than his 7th in the Hobartville Stakes last start.
