Playing God Lurking In 2011 Australian Cup Betting

The 2011 Australian Cup isn’t very far away so it’s time to start thinking about your tips for Race 7 at Flemington Racecourse this Saturday March 12th.

Leading the early betting with online bookmaker Luxbet is Heart Of Dreams at $4.60 then there’s Moudre, Precedence, Linton and Shocking.

However not included in the top five and with a very real chance at decent odds is #15 Playing God.

The three-year-old seems to have been forgotten by punters and is out at $9, some of the highest odds ever seen for this horse in his career.

That’s not bad money for a colt which hasn’t missed a place in his last eight races and has notched up six career wins from 11 starts.

In fact he had won five of his last six (with a second) coming into his last start at Flemington in the Australian Guineas.

There were many doubters saying he couldn’t handle to move away from Ascot or that he wasn’t up to this class of field, but he certainly proved them wrong.

He ended up crossing the line in third behind Shamrocker and Bullbars and when you consider the calibre of horses he beat there’s no doubting this is a top Group horse.

The big query for this race is the 2000m, a length he’s yet to run at but he does have wins over 1800m and the way he ran on late in the Australian Guineas gives every indication the extra distance will not be an issue.

The barrier draw wasn’t overly kind with Gate 11 but he does have a big weight advantage carrying just 54.5kgs, that’s four and a half less than the majority of the field.

There’s no doubting the form of this racehorse coming into the 2011 Australian Cup, in fact the only issue’s we see are a not so ideal gate and increase in distance.

When you offset that with arguably the best lead up results in the field and a tiny weight his current $9 certainly looks quite appealing.

If you agree the pro’s far outweigh the con’s for Playing God then take the fixed price odds now at leading online bookie Luxbet.

If you register a new account you are even eligible for a free bet valued up to $400!

So if you claim the full bonus and invest it on Playing God at generous odds this weekend in the 2011 Australian Cup you could walk away with $3600!
