Flemington Race Nominations – TAB $500,000 First4 Jackpot Stakes 2011

One of the nine quality black-type features set to light up Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse this Saturday March 12 is the $125,000 Listed TAB $500,000 First4 Jackpot Stakes (1400m) that has drawn 34 nominations.

Flemington’s Super Saturday of Racing 2011 is highlighted by a double-shot of Group 1 racing action with the Australian Cup and Newmarket Handicap the major attractions at the meeting.

The TAB $500,000 First4 Jackpot Stakes is another great event not to miss on the card and premier online bookmaker Luxbet will have exciting betting markets open on the event.

Early favourites among the 2011 TAB $500,000 First4 Jackpot Stakes include:

  • Undeniably (Mark Kavanagh) – Fastnet Rock four-year-old was just nudged out of the Group 1 Australia Stakes win by Whitefriars in January then ran an eye-catching sixth in the Oakleigh Plate beaten just two lengths on February 26
  • Red Flair (Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra) – Testa Rossa mare coming off a good second-up win in the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes at Caulfield on February 26
  • Culminate (Darren Weir) – Group 2 Tristarc Stakes winner during the spring, ran first-up in the Mannerism Stakes this season finishing sixth and will have come on since then
  • Danzylum (Robbie Griffiths) – Consistent Danzero seven-year-old enjoyed back-to-back Listed wins in January before finishing a game fourth to Typhoon Tracy in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes and then most recently ran third in a Listed race at this track and distance last Saturday
  • Doubtful Jack (Peter Moody) – Improving Not A Single Doubt four-year-old has claims after a first-up win in a black-type in Tassie before running fifth behind now-retired stablemate Typhoon Tracy in the CF Orr and seventh to More Joyous last start in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield – also entered for the Newmarket Handicap
  • Lady Lynette (David & Scott Brunton) – Six-year-old mare seeking her third win on the trot this preparation after two Listed victories in Tasmania, should be a very competitive force here if connections don’t run her in the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) at the same meeting
  • Niblick (Robert Hickmott) – Lloyd Williams-owned Encosta De Lago four-year-old also entered for the Blamey Stakes on Saturday
  • Offenders (Peter Snowden) – Canny Lad five-year-old in great form coming off a win at this track and distance on February 19
