2011 Eskimo Prince Stakes Nominations – Randwick Guineas Day Racing

Randwick Guineas Day 2011 will take place at Warwick Farm Racecourse for the first time this Saturday March 12 and the nominations for all the day’s features have been released including those for the $100,000 Listed Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m).

One of seven black-type events on the Randwick Guineas Day programme this year, the 2011 Eskimo Prince Stakes has attracted 11 nominees.

Notable entries for the Eskimo Prince Stakes 2011 include:

  • Celts (Peter Snowden) – Lonhro filly has a great advantage being locally trained at Warwick Farm, a Group 2 placegetter, winner at this track and recently ran a gallant second to Decision Time at Rosehill in a black-type on February 26
  • Halekulani (Gai Waterhouse) – Encosta De Lago filly resumed with a first-up win over 1100m at Rosehill on February 19, Group 3 placed during the spring and should be competitive
  • From The Vault (Mark De Montfort) – Another locally prepared filly, daughter of Charge Forward ran second at Randwick over 1200m first-up carrying a hefty 58kg before finishing fifth in the Fireball Quality last start
  • Big Storm (Bart Cummings) –  God’s Own colt resuming following a lengthy spell after breaking their maiden status at their third career start over 1550m back in June of last year
  • Parriwi (Kris Lees) – Mossman filly coming off a third in the Fireball Quality, experience at Group 1 level having run fifth in the Coolmore Stud Stakes last Derby Day and should thrive against lesser quality here third-up for the season

The premier Warwick Farm race this weekend is of course the $500,000 Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) for three-year-olds.

The Eskimo Prince Stakes final field and barrier draw is due to be released tomorrow and will be published here at Races.com.au followed by our exclusive race preview and betting tips.
