Flemington’s Super Saturday – 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy Nominations

The 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy nominations have revealed that starting positions will be hotly contended for the race run this Saturday March 12, 2011, with 32 fillies and mares nominating.

The Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy is worth $150,000 and is a 1,600 metre race for fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upwards.

Odds and betting information for the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy will be soon available at Luxbet.

Included in the nomination is the upset Australian Guineas winner Shamrocker, who won the Group 1 race by a convincing 1.8 lengths on March 5, 2011.

The O’Reilly filly was runner up to Brazilian Pulse in the 2010 VRC Crown Oaks on November 4, 2010, and finished fourth in The Mitty’s Vanity first-up this preparation.

Danny O’Brien’s Shamrocker has won three of her ten career starts and will be the one to beat in the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy.

Also amongst the nominations for the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy is Greg Eurell’s Pinker Pinker, who won the Angus Armansco Stakes last start at Caulfield on February 26, 2011.

Pinker Pinker has won three of her eight starts and has accrued more than $200,000 in career prize money.

The Reset filly has not missed the placings this preparation, finishing third in her first-up start in the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes on February 12, 2011.

Gerald Ryan’s Strawberry Field has also been included in the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy nominations.

The Encosta De Lago mare has had a disappointing run lately, only placing once in her last five runs.

The five-year-old mare has won three of her 21 career starts and has a win percentage of 14%.

Also included in the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy nominations are Darren Weir’s Culminate, Russell Cameron’s I’m Discreet and Danny O’Brien’s Impressive Eagle.
