2011 VRC Produce Stakes Nominations – Flemington’s Super Saturday

The 2011 VRC Produce Stakes will feature as one of seven Group races taking place on Flemington’s Super Saturday of Racing on March 12, 2011, and nominations for the race have now been released.

The Group 2 VRC Produce Stakes is a 1,400 metre race for two-year-old colts, fillies and geldings and is worth $300,000.

20 juveniles have nominated for the 2011 VRC Produce Stakes, including three of Peter Snowden’s biggest hopes; Kuhreihen, Intaglio and Helmet.

Intaglio finished second by only a half head in his first start at Ballarat on February 24, 2011.

The Manton colt will be stepping up the ranks to his first Stakes level attempt, and will have to rely on his raw ability to get make up for his lack of experience in the 2011 VRC Produce Stakes.

The Exceed and Excel colt Helmet will also be attempting his first Stakes level race, after winning his past two races this preparation in stunning style.

Helmet has won both his races with Kerrin McEvoy on-board and has already accumulated almost $100,000 in prize money from his three race starts.

Odds for Helmet and the rest of the 2011 VRC Produce Stakes field will be available closer to Saturday’s race at Luxbet.

Also in amongst the 2011 VRC Produce Stakes nominations are Robbie Laing’s Grand Britannia, Peter Moody’s Metonymy and Danny O’Brein’s Running Tall.
