Master Harry

Master Harry in the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap winner on Australian Guineas Day

Lightly raced three-year-old colt Master Harry has won the 2011 Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap at Flemington today on Australian Guineas Day.

The 1000m race down the Flemington straight saw 10 horses line up at the barriers where Master Harry started as the $2.90 race favourite.

At the jump Winter King got away well. Once the field settled after the first 200m Leapfrog took the lead from Sandusky City and Master Harry was sitting comfortably in third.

With 300m to go Master Harry and jockey Luke Nolen took up the lead and the result was never in doubt. Palatine, who finished second 2 1/2 lengths back, had a good run first up while Winter King was third.

Luke Nolen & Peter Moody

Luke Nolen and Peter Moody celebrate their 500th win together today with Master Harry

Today’s win marks the 500th win by Luke Nolen on a Peter Moody trained horse, an impressive effort showing the pairs great ability to work together.

After the impressive win Peter Moody said that it was a possibility that Master Harry may line up in the Newmarket Handicap next Saturday at Flemington, but that would see the young colt face off against stablemate and superstar sprinter Black Caviar. Other possibilities for Master Harry this Autumn include the Group 2 Yallambee Classic at Morphettville in Adelaide on Monday 14 March or else a Sydney race.
