Triple Elegance wins the 2011 Liverpool City Cup
That’s another win for trainer Chris Waller who has fielded a runner in all but one event today and is yet to finish below second place.
Triple Elegance was the clear Luxbet favourite before they jumped and she didn’t disappoint her backers with jockey Jimmy Cassidy putting her in the perfect position from the gates to the strait.
She was sitting one back on the rail for the entire journey getting a dream run making it nearly impossible for any of the other runners to launch an attack once they turned for home.
The course just opened up for Cassidy who moved off the rail onto the firmer ground and never looked like being beaten.
Graceful Anna was bridesmaid yet again with another good run showing great pace late in the race.
It was too little to have a crack at the leader though but enough to catch out Pureness on the line.
It was all a battle for third though with the Chipping Norton Stakes Day Liverpool City Cup being claimed by Triple Elegance and Jim Cassidy for the Chris Waller stable.
From here she’s qualified for the Doncaster so that will be the plan, to keep her form at 100% and hit the Group 1 race with the same speed she crossed the line with here today.
