Part of Flemington’s Australian Guineas Day, the Group 3 PFD Food Services Stakes is scheduled as Race 5 and is worth $150,000 and will be run over a distance of 1,400 metres.
Open to fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upwards, the 2011 PFD Food Services Stakes will feature Peter Moody’s Returntosender.
Returntosender will be second-up in the 2011 PFD Food Services Stakes after running a solid first start race at Flemington on February 19.
The Elusive City mare has a respectable second-up record, winning two out of four times, and only failing to place once.
The five-year-old mare had a disappointing last preparation that saw her only manage to place in one of five starts, however, after an encouraging performance in The Big6 Handicap last start, you have to wonder whether this time around will be a different story altogether.
This talented filly may not have won a race in almost 11 months, but she has shown she has more than enough ability, winning the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes at Morphettville during Adelaide’s Autumn Racing Carnival on April 17, 2010.
Returntosender is currently paying odds of $12 at Luxbet after originally opening at $10.
Luke Nolen will ride the Group winning mare from barrier six in the 2011 PFD Food Services Stakes.
