Jockey Corey Brown has been injured and will miss Chipping Norton Stakes Day at Warwick Farm

Successful Sydney jockey Corey Brown was the victim of a shocking fall today that has left him unable to ride on Chipping Norton Stakes Day at Warwick Farm this Saturday March 5, 2011.

Corey Brown was about to begin the last of his 19 trial program when his ride, the unraced three-year-old Polly, flipped over and rolled on top of the jockey after she took fright.

Complaining of chest, back and shoulder pain, Corey Brown was immediately taken to the nearby St Vincents hospital for more tests.

“Corey was complaining of pain in the chest, ribs, shoulder and back,” said Racing NSW’s jockey safety officer Maurice Logue.

“He also has lacerations to his hands and legs.”

The injury comes as a cruel blow for the Sydney jockey, who was booked to ride seven talented horses in tomorrow’s Chipping Norton Stakes Day.

His rides for the day were due to include Centennial Park (Chipping Norton Stakes), Parables (Surround Stakes) and Graceful Anna (Liverpool City Cup).

Races.com.au will provide updates on who will replace Brown in tomorrow’s races. Jockey information, as well as updated odds and betting information, are currently available at Luxbet for all Saturday Warwick Farm races.
