2011 Listed Roy Higgins Quality – Tips & Betting

The 2011 Australian Guineas Day is set to take place at Flemington Racecourse this Saturday March 5, 2011, and here at Races.com.au we are giving you the hottest 2011 Listed Roy Higgins Quality tips to use on the day.

The Listed Roy Higgins Quality will feature as Race 4 on one of the most prestigious days of Australian racing.

Run over 2,600 metres, the 2011 Listed Roy Higgins Quality is worth $150,000 and has attracted a full 16 horse field.

Vesper

Our tip is for Vesper to be the 2011 Listed Roy Higgins Quality winner

The Races.com.au team is tipping Robert Hickmott’s Vesper to win the 2011 Listed Roy Higgins Quality.

Vesper powered home to win the Listed Clamms Seafood Cup by a length at Caulfield last start on February 26, 2011.

The Zabeel gelding has drawn barrier two for the 2011 Listed Roy Higgins Quality and will be ridden by jockey Nicholas Hall.

Vesper is currently equal favourite in the betting at Luxbet, paying $4.60 for the win.

Also equal favourite at Luxbet and, our tip for second place, is Mark Kavanagh’s King Diamond.

King Diamond has won three of his last four starts and has only failed to place once out of six runs this preparation.

The Danewin gelding has already won four from 12 starts and has never failed to place at this track before.

King Diamond’s trainer is confident in his four-year-old gelding’s talent.

“He’s no big looker or robust horse or anything like that, but what he is is fit and ready to go,” Mark Kavanagh said.

“He’s a pretty consistent nice, reliable horse and he’ll go around in the 2600 (metre race) on Saturday and should run well.”

Also in contention for the race, and our tip to finish third in the 2011 Listed Roy Higgins Quality, is Luke Oliver’s Elmore.

Elmore won this race last year and has won two from two runs at this track.

While she hasn’t won a race this preparation so far, the seven-year-old gelding put in a very encouraging run last start at Moonee Valley, and despite finishing fourth, demonstrated that she is back in her best form.

Elmore is currently paying $10 for the win at Luxbet and odds of $3.25 for the place.
