Marsh Breeders Stakes 2011 Form Guide

There are two Group 3 events on the cards at Morphettville Racecourse this weekend so we’ve put together a full Form Guide for the Marsh Breeders Stakes which will jump as Race 3.

The 2011 Breeders Stakes is a 1200m sprint for two-year-olds worth $73,000 to the winner.

Nine horses will line up for the event and we’ve tabled all the stats and form on each one to give you the best possible chance of winning.

If you want to increase those chances even more get yourself an account on Luxbet where you’re guaranteed always better than TAB odds!

2011 Marsh Breeders Stakes Form Guide

#1 – Redangelo (Barrier – 2) (56kgs)

  • Trainer: Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra
  • Jockey: Chris Symons
  • Career Stats: 3s – 1w – 1p
  • Last Start: 7th at Flemington

Won $42,000 in a race over this distance at Flemington on just his second start. Couldn’t back that up last race with a disappointing seventh. By Testa Rossa this colt will be there or there abouts.

#2 – Anythingthatmoves (Barrier – 3) (56kgs)

  • Trainer: Stuart Gower
  • Jockey: Ben Hoppo
  • Career Stats: 3s – 1w – 2p
  • Last Start: 2nd at Morphettville

Second in the Queen Adelaide Stakes here last start by less than half a length. That’s also the most this horse has ever lost by in its two second place runs. Usually likes to get towards the front and hang on but will be interesting to see if that’s the same over 1200m.

#3 – Tang Prosper (Barrier – 1) (56kgs)

  • Trainer: Tony McEvoy
  • Jockey: Simon Price
  • Career Stats: 1s – 0w – 1p
  • Last Start: 2nd at Morphettville

Just the one run for a second placing in November last year. Will be first up after a break and a tough colt to read. Does have barrier one and a steady 56kgs.

#4 – Rockshaft (Barrier – 8) (56kgs)

  • Trainer: Robert Smerdon
  • Jockey: n/a
  • Career Stats: 2s – 1w – 0p
  • Last Start: 1st at Wodonga

Started with a sluggish sixth at Bendigo but claimed a maiden win last start where he was carrying a kilogram more weight. Drew unfavourably out in gate eight.

Bet on Rockshaft now at Luxbet

#5 – Rescue Mission (Barrier – 7) (56kgs)

  • Trainer: Lee Freedman
  • Jockey: Chad Lever
  • Career Stats: 1s – 0w – 0p
  • Last Start: 4th at Flemington

Got back deep before eventually storming home to come 4th at huge odds on debut at Flemington in a $100,000 race. After that run he’ll certainly be at shorter odds here and not without a hope.

Bet on Rescue Mission now at Luxbet

#6 – Ortmayer (Barrier – 5) (56kgs)

  • Trainer: John Thompson
  • Jockey: Paul Gatt
  • Career Stats: 2s – 0w – 1p
  • Last Start: 3rd at Murray Bridge

Stepping up a bit in quality for this race we can’t really see this gelding featuring at the end. Will probably go forward to try and give themselves every chance.

Bet on Ortmayer now at Luxbet

#7 – Dinky (Barrier – 4) (54kgs)

  • Trainer: Jake Stephens
  • Jockey: Dom Tourneur
  • Career Stats: 1s – 1w – 0p
  • Last Start: 1st at Murray Bridge

Won his debut in front of Ortmayer last start but will probably need to do more than that against this field. Still you can’t complain about a horse that’s one for one especially when it’s by the great Elvstroem.

Bet on Dinky now at Luxbet

#8 – Stratumotor (Barrier – 6) (54kgs)

  • Trainer: Mark Kavanagh
  • Jockey: Dean Yendall
  • Career Stats: 3s – 0w – 1p
  • Last Start: 5th at Morphettville

Has started her career with a third, fourth and fifth in increasingly good quality races. Last start 5th in Queen Adelaide Stakes was only by 1.7 lengths so definitely shouldn’t be discounted.

Bet on Stratumotor now at Luxbet

#9 – Call Me Biscuit (Barrier – 9) (54kgs)

  • Trainer: Stuart Gower
  • Jockey: Adrian Patterson
  • Career Stats: 2s – 0w – 0p
  • Last Start: 4th at Morphettville

4th in the Queen Adelaide Stakes at long odds, she came home ok and you won’t get as much value for her in this race. Tough to see her winning but a place is a possibility.
