The latest Group 1 feature of the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival is this Saturday’s $750,000 Australian Guineas (1600m) running at Flemington and here the Races.com.au team have the winning 2011 Australian Guineas Betting & Race Tips.
Set to run as Flemington Race 6 on Saturday at 4:05pm (AEDST), the 2011 Australian Guineas has drawn a capacity final field of 16 starters plus four emergencies.
Following yesterday’s barrier draw for the three-year-olds’ showdown, #2 Playing God has firmed into the $5.50 favourite in the Australian Guineas odds at Luxbet.
The Neville Parnham-trained Blackfriars colt from WA came up with the ideal barrier three draw for their interstate debut, punters quick to back the consistent galloper.
Boasting one of the best Win Rates of the Australian Guineas field with 60%, equal with Under The Eiffel and Enjin Number Nine and surpassed only by unbeaten filly Southern Speed, it is easy to see why Playing God is sitting at the top of the betting markets.
However, the quality and depth of this year’s Australian Guineas and Playing God yet to race outside of his home state have us tipping an upset in Flemington Race 6 on Saturday.
Looking across the field and after studying the 2011 Australian Guineas form guide, the Races.com.au crew are tipping #11 Under The Eiffel to take out the Guineas.
After opening at $7.50 in the Australian Guineas betting at Luxbet, Under The Eiffel has now drifted out to $8 making this the time to get behind them.
A winner of three of their five races and yet to finish out of the money have run second in their other two career starts, Under The Eiffel boasts the same 60% Win Rate as the favourite.
Drawn in barrier 10, Under The Eiffel will move into gate eight if the emergencies don’t get a start.
Last start they ran an eye-catching second to Dusty Star in the Group 2 D’Urban Stakes (400m) at Caulfield on February 12 and will have come on well since then.
If connections are willing to pay the $40,000 late entry fee, we are willing to back them.
To finish second behind Under The Eiffel in the Australian Guineas Quinella we like #13 Enjin Number Nine, rated a $10 shot through Luxbet.
The Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Enjin Number Nine came into Guineas contention when they beat a quality field including dual Group 1 winner Star Witness in the Listed Manfred Stakes (1300m) at Sandown on February 9.
Following this they ran fourth in the CS Hayes after getting stuck in a bad spot on the track at Flemington, so don’t be surprised to see them return to form here.
In a photo-finish for third we think last year’s Caulfield Guineas winner Anacheeva will finally produce a good run this season and just nudge out Playing God.
Peter Moody’s Anabaa colt has done nothing this year finishing seventh and 11th in their two first-up starts but winning a Group 1 is no small feat so don’t discount just yet.
Head to our favourite online bookmaker Luxbet to take advantage of these insider Australian Guineas betting tips at the best prices in the country.
