2011 PFD Food Service Stakes – Final Field & Barrier Draw

The final field and barrier draw has been released for the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes that will run as Race 5 on Flemington’s Australian Guineas Day this Saturday March 5, 2011.

The 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes will jump at 3.20pm (AEDST) and is a 1,400 metre race open to fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upwards.

The Group 3 PFD Food Service Stakes has attracted acceptances from a ten horse field, all hoping for a piece of the $150,000 prize money on offer.

Aloha

Aloha will start from barrier 1 in the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes

Mick Price’s Aloha is among the acceptances and has been lucky enough to draw barrier one for the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes.

Aloha has won her last three races this preparation, including the Listed Lord Stakes last start at Caulfield on December 26, 2010.

The four-year-old mare has only failed to win two starts this preparation, and appears to be in lightning form.

Aloha will be ridden by jockey Glen Boss in the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes and will carry 56.5 kilograms.

Also in the final field is Peter Moody’s Returntosender, who will be attempting to improve on last preparation when she failed to win a race.

The five-year-old Elusive City mare finished third last start in The Big6 Handicap Open behind Diplomatic Force and Belgietto.

Returntosender is a previous Group winner, winning the Group 2 Queen of The South at Morphettville on April 17, 2010.

Returntosender has drawn barrier six in the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes and will be ridden by regular jockey Luke Nolen.

Also amongst the acceptances is Russell Cameron’s I’m Discreet, Matthew William’s Flying Tessie and Lee Freedman’s Dane Julia.
