2011 Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap Final Field Announced

Australian Guineas Day is just around the corner and the final field for the 2011 Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap has now been released.

The 1000m Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap will run as Race 7 at 4.45pm (AEDST) this Saturday March 5, 2011, at Flemington Racecourse.

Worth $125,000, the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap will once again include some of our best sprinting talent, with 11 classy horses accepting for the race.

Master Harry has accepted for the 2011 Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap after winning the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes on February 12, 2011.

The lightly raced three-year-old colt has won two of his of his four previous starts, including the Listed Ice Cream Stakes at last year’s Australian Guineas Day.

The Magic Albert colt has accrued total prize earnings of more than $181,000 across his four starts and has a win percentage of 50%.

Master Harry has drawn barrier eight for the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap and will be ridden by jockey Luke Nolen.

Secret Flyer

Secret Flyer will be looking for their first win this preparation in the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap

Mark Young’s Secret Flyer is amongst the acceptances for the 2011 Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap.

The seven-year-old gelding finished a respectable third in the Nissan Hareeba Stakes last start on February 16.

The Secret Savings gelding will be looking for his first win of this preparation, after failing to win a race in his eight runs so far.

Secret Flyer has not claimed victory in any race since August, 2009, and the gelding’s future in racing appears deciduous unless he can perform well in this Saturday’s race.

Secret Flyer has drawn well and will jump from barrier one in the 2011 Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap, but will carry the heaviest weight in the field at 58.5 kilograms.

Bruce Hill’s Leapfrog, Robbie Laing’s She’s Got Gears and Shaun Dwyer’s Palatine have also accepted for the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap.
