2011 PFD Food Service Stakes – Nominations Released

Aloha

Aloha has been nominated for the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes

The ever exciting Australian Guineas Day will take place this Saturday March 5, 2011, and nominations for the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes have now been released.

The Group 3 PFD Food Service Stakes, which was previously known as the Frances Tressady Stakes, is worth $150,000 and is open to fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upwards.

The 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes will be run at Flemington Racecourse under set weight plus penalty conditions.

14 horses have nominated for the 1400m PFD Food Service Stakes including Mick Price’s Aloha.

Aloha has won six of her 15 career starts, giving her a win percentage of 40%.

The Encosta De Lago four-year-old will be first-up in the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes after a previous preparation that saw her win five of her seven starts.

Fresh off a win in the Listed Lord Stakes in December 26, 2011, the mare will be looking to continue her winning streak and make it four in a row.

Also amongst the nominations is Danny O’Brien’s Impressive Eagle, who will be looking to better her last start where she finished a disappointing ninth in the Group 3 Hyderabad R.C. Stakes on February 12, 2011.

Impressive Eagle has won over 1,400 metres previously this preparation, so will be hoping she can claim her first group victory over this distance.

Lee Freedman is represented twice in the 14 horse nominations field, including Dane Julia and Iridescente.

Iridescente has won two of her previous six starts and has placed no worse than second this preparation so far.

A run in the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes will be the Command filly’s first attempt at Stakes level competition.

Also amongst the nominations for the 2011 PFD Food Service Stakes are Peter Moody’s Returntosender, Michael Kent’s Seduced and Dale Sutton’s Simply Put.
