The 2011 Futurity Stakes is ready to take place as the first of three Group 1 races on Blue Diamond Stakes Day today February 26, 2011.
The 1400m Futurity Stakes has attracted a ten horse starting field, and is worth $500,000.The latest odds have superstar mare More Joyous at odds-on favourite for the 2011 Futurity Stakes, paying $1.50 for the win at Luxbet.
More Joyous has firmed into $1.50 this morning from her original $1.55 starting price and is overwhelming favourite to win the 2011 Futurity Stakes.
More Joyous will be hoping to win her 12th race out of 16 career starts and will be jumping from the inside gate.
Still paying $6 for the win at Luxbet, is second favourite Whobegotyou, who is the only other horse apart from More Joyous who is paying less than $10.
Mark Kavanagh’s Whobegotyou drifted out to $6.50 before firming back into $6 this morning.
Whobegotyou will do it tough from the widest gate of the field, jumping from barrier 10 in the 2011 Futurity Stakes.
Tony Noonan’s Ortensia and Stephen McKee’s King Mufhasa are next in the line of betting, both paying $12 at Luxbet.
Punters have begun to steer away from Ortensia, who was originally paying odds of $9.50 but has drifted out to $12.
King Mufhasa originally opened at $12 and after briefly firming into odds of $9 has moved back to his original odds.
The biggest market mover is Avienus, who began at $61 and has now drifted all the way out to odds of $81 for the win.
