Field & Form – 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes

The 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes is set to be as exciting as ever with a talented 10 horse field lining up in Race 3 on Blue Diamond Stakes Day this Saturday February 26, 2011.

The 1400m Angus Armanasco Stakes is worth $180,000 and is open to three-year-old fillies only.

Zelsnitz is the current favourite at Luxbet for the Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes.

Paying $3.60, the Snitzel filly has won two of her previous five starts, and finished third in her only previous second-up race.

Peter Moody’s Zelsnitz seems to be quite flexible, being suited to both good and slow tracks.

Zelsnitz has never failed to place at this distance in the past, but is stepping up in class for the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes.

Currently tied for second favourite at Luxbet are Sayahailmary and Pinker Pinker, both paying $6.

Sayahailmary has won two of her previous seven runs and has won the only other time she has contested this distance at Caulfield Racecourse.

The Keep The Faith filly will be second-up for the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes and finished second in her only other second-up race.

Pinker Pinker has also won two of her seven starts to date and will also be second-up this start.

The Reset filly won her only other second-up race and is best suited to both a slow and a heavy track.

Pinker Pinker finished third last start ahead of Zelsnitz in the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes.
