#1 Shocking

2nd-up

Career: 25-6-6-2

Shocking may have finished 11th in the C.F. Orr Stakes last start, but he wins 50% of the time second-up, including last prep when he won the Makybe Diva Stakes.

#2 Heart Of Dreams

3rd race this prep

Career: 22-5-6-3

Needed the extra distance last start and would have won the C.F. Orr Stakes had he had a few more strides. He has a wide gate here (14) but has overcome wide barriers many times in the past.

#3 Ginga Dude

1st-up

Career: 37-12-5-6

Ginga Dude is the likely leader out of the barrier, especially since he has drawn barrier three, and has a reasonable first-up record that has seen him fail to place only one of six times.

#4 Precedence

2nd-up

Career: 25-6-3-1

Has only won second-up once before but eill have gained a lot of fitness from his first start in the C.F. Orr Stakes where he finished 14th.

#5 Trusting

2nd-up

Career: 17-2-4-2

Has only won two races, and has won never won or placed second up. Placed in a Group 1 two starts back.

#6 Wind Shear

10th race this prep

Career: 47-5-5-5

Wind Shear finished sixth in a Group 3 last start, however, weights, barrier and tempo were against him. His stablemate La Rocket won this race last year.

#7 Speed Gifted

1st-up

Career: 18-5-0-3

Only ran two races in the Spring due to a respiratory infection but placed in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes this time last year.

#8 Moudre

2nd-up

Career: 18-7-4-2

Moudre finished second last in the C.F. Orr Stakes last start, however is much more suited to this distance and has won 50% of his second-up runs.

#9 Linton

2nd-up

Career: 10-3-1-3

Linton will suit a pace on running of this race and is in with a good chance. He has never not placed second-up, but will really need a good track.

#10 Spacecraft

3rd race this prep

Career: 14-5-1-1

Spacecraft was the first home, apart from Heart Of Dreams, of the field that has come through the C.F.Orr Stakes. He has never attempted this distance.

#11 Hanks

3rd race this prep

Career: 11-3-0-0

It would be a surprise if Hanks could come out and win this race, as he has failed to places at any attempts he’s previously had at both this distance and this track.

#12 Lord Pyrus

4th race this prep

Career: 16-5-4-4

Lord Pyrus is coming fresh off a win last start in the Group 3 Carlyon cup on Feb 12. He is up in class here but is in top form.

#13 Rebel Soldier

2nd-up

Career: 5-3-0-0

Rebel Soldier had a disappointing run in the C.F. Orr Stakes that saw him finish last, despite drawing a good barrier (4). He may finish better with the longer distance though, and did win the Group 3 Gordon Stakes at the end of his last prep.

#14 Faint Perfume

2nd-up

Career: 18-5-1-1

Faint perfume has not been in her best form of late, and didn’t finish better than sixth last prep. Looks like she is out-classed in this one.
