Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
The 2011 Hobartville Stakes looks like one of those races that could be very rewarding for minimal outlay.
The catch of course is picking right and with the quality of contenders that’s not going to be easy.
The early favourite is New Zealand horse Somepin Anypin which is sitting at $3.50 on the Luxbet fixed price markets.
The improving Ilovethiscity has grabbed the attention of many punters with a rapid finishing fourth in the Royal Sovereign. This has pushed the price in to around $6 and second favourite.
Skilled is next at $7 and would be shorter if not for drawing a wide barrier.
If you still have faith in Masquerader there’s solid value at $8.50 after many punters have lost patience with the colt.
The next two and only others in single figures are Pressday, which is in much the same boat as Masquerader with punters, and the impressive Top Drop which is keeping steady support.
From where we sit we’re ready to right off both Pressday and Masquerader until they can offer some genuine consistency in their runs.
Somepin Anypin is a clear winner on recent form but will not have it all his own way out in front.
Top Drop and Ilovethiscity will battle it out for second with Skilled left with a little bit too much work to do from out wide.
The best chances of the roughies goes to Retrieve who is too long at $13 and Light Brigade which at $26 has been judged a little harshly after one poor run.
