2011 Blue Diamond Stakes – Betting Update

The 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes is all set to take place at Caulfield Racecourse this Saturday February 26, 2011, and here at Races.com.au we have provided you with the latest betting updates for the race.

The Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes will feature some of the best two-year-old talent in the country and is due to jump at 4.30pm (AEDST).

Worth $1 million, the 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes betting has seen Sepoy firm into the overwhelming favourite, currently paying $1.60 for the win at Luxbet.

Peter Snowden’s Sepoy had his support increased even further after he drew barrier five for the 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes.

Sepoy will be ridden by successful jockey Kerrin McEvoy in this year’s Blue Diamond Stakes and will carry the set 55.5 kilogram weight allocated to all colts and geldings.

Sepoy is currently paying $1.60 for the win, after briefly floating out to $1.65 at Luxbet, and is paying $1.10 for the place.

Second favourite at Luxbet is currently Peter Moody’s Hallowell Belle, who has drifted out to odds of $9.50 for the win after opening at $9.

Hallowell Belle has drawn barrier four for the 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Craig Williams.

The biggest market mover of the field has been Lee Freedman’s late entry Atomic.

Atomic opened in the Luxbet betting markets at $13 and has since firmed into third favourite, paying $10 for the win.

The connections of Atomic paid the $55,000 late entry fee to allow their colt to compete in the 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes after his convincing win in the Listed Chairman Stakes last start.

Atomic has drawn barrier two and will be ridden by jockey Craig Newitt in the 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes on Saturday.

With Sepoy such a clear favourite for the race, Luxbet are currently offering some very generous fixed place dividends, including Spectrolite paying $18.39 for the place, and Helping Hand, paying $35.78 for the place.
