2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes Latest Betting Update

The 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes will feature as the first of seven Group races when it runs as Race 3 on Blue Diamond Stakes Day this Saturday February 26, 2011.

The Angus Armanasco Stakes is a Group 2 race which is run over a 1,400 metre distance at Caulfield Racecourse.

Worth $180,000, the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes is open to three-year-old fillies only.

Current favourite for this year’s race is Peter Moody’s Zelsnitz, paying odds of $3.60 for the win at Luxbet.

The Snitzel filly has won two of her previous 5 starts, including the Listed Race-Tech Stakes last preparation.

Zelsnitz, who has drawn barrier ten for the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes, will be looking to put in a good lead-up performance to the 2011 Australian Guineas and the 2011 Newmarket Handicap, for which she is also nominated.

Currently second in the line of betting is Peter Moody’s other filly Sayahailmary.

Sayahailmary has fared better than her stablemate in the barrier draw, being allocated gate four for the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes.

The talented filly will be ridden by jockey Ben Melham and is currently paying $5.50 for the win at Luxbet.

Equal third favourites at Luxbet are John Thompson’s Jeter and Greg Eurell’s Pinker Pinker, both paying $6.50.

Jeter has drawn barrier five in the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes and will be ridden by Craig Newitt, while Pinker Pinker has drawn the second widest gate of nine and will have jockey  Dwayne Dunn on-board.
