2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes Final Field, Barriers & Weights

The final field, barriers and weights for the $180,000 Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) have been released ahead of the three-year-old fillies’ showdown taking place at Caulfield’s Blue Diamond Stakes Day 2011 this Saturday, February 26.

Sistine Angel

Sistine Angel is the top weight in the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes field

The 2011 BMW Angus Armanasco Stakes has drawn a final field of 10 starters lead by the Andrew Nobelet-trained Sistine Angel.

Top-weight with 57.5kg, Sistine Angel is set to open the favourite in the Angus Armanasco Stakes odds at Luxbet after the classy Testa Rossa filly drew barrier one for Saturday.

Due to be ridden by in-form hoop Craig Williams, Sistine Angel last ran a disappointing 14th first-up in the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 12.

However, with a run behind her and the Angus Armanasco offering more distance, the multiple Group 1 winner should improve dramatically here.

Peter Moody will launch a two-horse assault in the Angus Armanasco Stakes this year with Snitzel filly and stakes winner Zelsnitz (barrier 10) and Sayahailmary (barrier four).

Other early fancies in the 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes include:

  • Jesse’s Girl (Peter Morgan) – Drawn ideally in barrier two, this Choisir filly has a number of Group placings to her name but has to show improvement from her last place finish in the Kevin Hayes when drawn unsuitably wide
  • Miss Elvee (Robbie Griffiths) – Kevin Hayes Stakes runner-up before which this Elvstroem filly from Cranbourne won over 1200m at Caulfield in January
  • Pinker Pinker (Greg Eurell) – Reset filly ran an eye-catching third in the Kevin Hayes first-up is another Place Chance here

The 2011 Angus Armanasco Stakes will run as Caulfield Race 3 on Saturday, one of seven Group race features on the card.

For all the best Blue Diamond Stakes Day betting odds, options and offers the only place to go is Luxbet.

Luxbet are the number one online bookmaker when it comes to having a punt on the races and every new depositing customer that joins and quotes the promo code BONUSBET will get a free bet up to $400!
