Zaratone Out-Classed Field To Win The Greenwood Hotel Handicap – Rosehill Race 3 Results

Zaritone comfortably won The Greenwood Hotel Handicap - Rosehill Race 3

Zaratone has proven that he is a class above the rest after winning The Greenwood Hotel Handicap at Rosehill by one and a half lengths today.

Zaratone was brought to Sydney by trainer Nick Olive from Canberra to compete in Race 3 on Apollo Stakes Day.

The five-year-old gelding has now made it three wins in a row after today’s performance where he led throughout the entire race.

The Zariz gelding jumped well to settle in first position early on and was never challenged throughout the 1,200 metre race.

Egos Dare led early on with Zaratone and lunged on the line to claim second ahead of the favourite and late market mover, Pureness, who finished a half head behind in third.

Pureness had to work early on to move across from her barrier of seven and used up a lot of energy in order to settle into third at the beginning of the race.

Zaratone out-classed the field to run the race in a time of 1 minute and 10.07 seconds.

Trainer Nick Olive has not made any plans on where to send his winning gelding next, but is hoping to nominate him in some higher class races.
