2011 Apollo Stakes Day has once again provided much entertainment for racing-enthusiasts, with all eight races being action-packed as expected.
The excitement began with Race 1 when Helmet won The Australian Brewery Handicap in Race 1.
The feature racing of the day began in Race 5 when the 2011 Parramatta Cup was won by top-weight Hawk Island.The 2011 Apollo Stakes was the headline of Apollo Stakes Day and champion-in-the-making Melito proved to be too good for the rest of the field.
Melito was first-up this start from a spell and has once again demonstrated the extreme talent she possesses.
The Listed Triscay Stakes ran as Race 7 today and was won by Gai Waterhouse’s Kiss From A Rose.
Gai Waterhouse picked up the double in the race with her other entry, More Strawberries, handling the heavy weight and coming home for third.
