There is an abundance of talent in the 2011 Triscay Stakes for fillies and mares that will run as part of Apollo Stakes Day this Saturday February 19, 2011.
Run over 1,200 metres, the Listed Triscay Stakes will run as Race 7 at 5.10pm (AEDST) at Rosehill Gardens and will be worth $100,000.
The Races.com.au team have come together to provide our punters with the exlusive betting tips for the 2011 Triscay Stakes.
Current favourite with both us and Luxbet, currently paying $2.80 to win, is Gai Waterhouse’s Kiss From A Rose.
The four-year-old Encosta De Lago mare has only had five starts to date, but what she is lacking in experience she makes up in raw talent.
All of Kiss From A Rose’s runs have been sensational, except when she bled in her race in March, 2010, and finished eleventh.
Kiss From A Rose finished third last start, however, was caught three wide and had a difficult run.
Here at Races.com.au we are confident that if she can cross over from her wide barrier of 12 early without too much work, she should come through to win the 2011 Triscay Stakes.
For second place we are backing Matthew Smith’s Hurtle Myrtle, who is coming back from an almost year-long spell.
While the four-year-old mare has only won one of her ten starts, she has only failed to place four times, and demonstrated in her trial on February 1st that she is back in form.
Hurtle Myrtle has drawn barrier three in the 2011 Triscay Stakes and has only been allocated 55.5 kilograms, so this leads us to think that she will be the surprise performer on the day.
Our next pick is Joseph Pride’s Bacchanal Woman, who is first-up from a spell.
Bacchanal Woman has won nine of her 33 career starts and has drawn barrier five for the 2011 Triscay Stakes.
Bacchanal Woman is not overly supported in the betting, currently paying $14 a win at Luxbet, but won last prep first-up againts Thankgodyou’rehere by 1.8 lengths after winning a trial under jockey Corey Brown, just the same as she has done coming into the 2011 Triscay Stakes.
We are tipping a trifecta with #3 Hurtle Myrtle, #7 Bacchanal Woman and #11 Kiss From A Rose, so why not give it a go at Luxbet today?
Rosehill Race 7 Tips – 2011 Triscay Stakes
- Races.com.au favourite: #11 Kiss From A Rose
- Best Place Picks: #3 Hurtle Myrtle, #7 Bacchanal Woman and #1 More Strawberries
Also running is Gai Waterhouse’s classy filly More Strawberries, who has won two of her recent trials.
The More Than Ready filly is a dual Group winner, however, is first up from a spell and word is that she is not quite yet at her fittest in this early stage of her preparation.
More Strawberries has drawn an awkward barrier (11) in the 2011 Triscay Stakes and is currently paying $7 a win at Luxbet.
