2011 Listed Triscay Stakes – Final Field Released

The 2011 Listed Triscay Stakes final field has been released today and has revealed that a top class field will be contesting the title on Saturday February 19, 2011.

The $100,000 Triscay Stakes will be run over 1,200 metres and will jump as Race 7 at 5.10pm (AEDST).

Gai Waterhouse’s More Strawberries has been named as a starter after having to pull out of last Saturday’s Light Fingers Stakes after exhibiting signs of nasal discharge.

The More Than Ready filly will be looking for a first up win this prep after winning two Group 2 races last preparation.

More Strawberries has been unlucky in drawing barrier 11 in the 2011 Triscay Stakes and will carry the highest weight of 57 kilograms.

Odds for all runners in the 2011 Triscay Stakes will be available soon at Luxbet.

Among the high profile runners in this year’s Triscay Stakes is Clarry Conners’ Dorf Command.

Dorf Command is also first up in the 2011 Triscay Stakes after an 11 week spell and will be hoping to have a more successful preparation this time around.

Last preparation Dorf Command failed to win any of his six races, but did place second in two listed races.

Dorf Command will jump from barrier one and will be ridden by apprentice jockey Nathan Berry.

Also featuring in this exciting field is Peter Snowden’s four-year-old mare Trim.

The Lonhro mare finished second in her last start at Flemington on November 2, 2011.

Trim has drawn barrier nine in the 2011 Apollo Stakes and will carry 55.5 kilograms.

Matthew Smith’s Hurtle Myrtle will be making a comeback after not having raced since March, 2010.

Hurtle Myrtle has placed second twice in Group 2 races during her career and Matthew Smith will be hoping his four-year-old mare can show she is back in her best form with an impressive run in the 2011 Triscay Stakes.

Hurtle Myrtle will jump from barrier three and will be ridden by jockey Hugh Bowman.

Other acceptances for the 2011 Triscay Stakes include John Thompson’s Happy Hippy, Peter Snowden’s Mascareri and Gai Waterhouse’s Kiss From A Rose.
