Randwick Results – Scottish Border Wins Race 8

The final race at Randwick has been won by #10 Scottish Border in the ‘Meet Me At The Bellevue Hotel After The Last’ Handicap.

#8 Theophorus, who had dropped 9.5 kilograms in weight penalites since his last start, led from the beginning ahead of #3 Hadaaf and #9 Lockmar.

#11 Buffalo had a tough run, being stuck three wide for most of the race, and couldn’t get back to the lead from there.

The $2.20 Luxbet favourite #4 All Legal shot away from the rest of the field with 150 mteres to go and looked like he had it won until Gary Frazer’s #10 Scottish Border swooped down the outside to claim the win.

Scottish Border, who caught All Legal with his incredibly long strides, was second up this race after finishing fifth last start at Rosehill.

Trainer Gary Frazer said that he is now looking to aim his four-year-old gelding at the Group 2 Chairmans Handicap at Randwick on April 9.

Frazer also commented that his gelding may be nominated for the 2011 Sydney Cup.
