The much anticipated 2011 Hobart Cup will take place on Sunday February 13, 2011.
The race will run as Race 7 and will be worth $300,000 in prize money.
The Group 3 Hobart Cup has once again attracted a smart field, but the Races.com.au team has put together our best tips in order to make betting on the race even easier.
We are picking six-year-old gelding #1 Dream Pedlar to win the 2011 Hobart Cup.
Dream Pedlar has had eight wins from 38 starts, and four of those wins have been during this preparation, so we know the Troy Blacker-trained gelding is in the best form of his career.
Dream Pedlar has drawn barrier seven for the 2011 Hobart Cup and will be ridden by jockey Craig Williams.
For second place we fancy Michael Kent’s #2 Red Buttons who has drawn barrier one for the race.
Red Buttons has won four of his previous five starts and has a win percentage of 23%.
Although Red Button’s best distance appears to be 2,000 metres, we are confident he will well and truly be in the finish.
Another horse that we feel will make the placings is Ray Worbey’s #11 Organised.
The seven-year-old gelding Organised has won his last three starts, as well as a barrier trial last month, and is in excellent form ahead of Sunday’s Hobart Cup.
Organised won his last start over 2,100 metres on January 23, 2011, by 3 lengths.
Why not try a trifecta with #1 Dream Pedlar, #2 Red Buttons and #11 Organised at Luxbet and receive their ‘Best of the Best’ markets.
