2011 W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes Race Tips & Betting

The 2011 W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes is all set to take place this Saturday February 12, 2011, at Ascot Racecourse.

The 1,600 metres W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes is worth $175,000 and is open to three-year-old fillies only.

Races.com.au has put together the hottest tips for this year’s race.

The Current favourite is the More Than Ready filly Favourite Star who has a win percentage of 50%.

Grant William’s Favourite Star finished third in last month’s Challenge Stakes at Ascot, behind runner-up and fellow W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes contender Private Dance.

Favourite Star has drawn barrier 6 for the race and is currently paying $4.60 at Luxbet.

Despite not being the favourite, the Races.com.au team is putting their money on David Casey’s Motion Pictures.

Having won five of her eleven starts, we feel that the Oratorio filly has had more experience than Favourite Star and this, we believe, will be a crucial factor in the race.

Motion Pictures has already won the Group 3 W.A. Sires’ Produce Stakes and the Group 2 Karraatta Plate last year, and is paying very nice odds of $8.50 at Luxbet to win the 2011 W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes.

Our pick for second is the Lindsey Smith-trained Miss Vinnoire who has had an exceptional preparation thus far.

Miss Vinnoire will be looking to make it three in a row after winning her first two races this prep, and her last win was over the 1,600 metre distance when she won by 3 lengths.

Miss Vinnoire is currently paying $4.80 a win fixed price at Luxbet but will be sure to shorten so make sure you get in early and secure the best odds.

We also think that Rob WellsPrivate Dance is worth watching.

She beat the current favourite Favourite Star in the 2011 Challenge Stakes last month and before that finished first at Ascot on January 19.

Her only test will be the distance, having only ever covered 1,400 metres in the past, and her barrier draw of 11 means she will have some serious work to do.

Private Dance is currently paying $8 at Luxbet.

Tips for Ascot Race 7 – W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #1 Motion Pictures
  • Best Place Picks: #10 Miss Vinnoire from #7 Private Dance and #13 Favourite Star
