Thursday racing is due to run at tracks right across the country from Ballarat in Victoria and Mackay in North Queensland, to a twilight meet at Launceston in Tassie.

Victoria’s Ballarat Racecourse is set to host a bumper nine-race programme today starting at 12:25pm (AEDST) with the $15,000 Tracy the Placement People Maiden Plate (1400m).

After the earlier maiden races some top class handicaps are on the Ballarat card today including Race 6 – the $15,000 Optus Business Rising Stars 0 – 62 Handicap (1100m) at 3:20pm (AEDST) where we like #10 Symphonize to win after a great start to their career with three placings from as many runs.

The last two races are the richest events on the card and in Race 8, the $22,5000 Tour of Victoria Country Showcase 0 – 72 (1400m) at 4:35pm (AEDST), we are tipping #8 Wild ‘n’ Stormy to win at good odds.

Port Lincoln (SA)Race 1 jumps at 1:10pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

Racing will run in South Australia this afternoon at the Port Lincoln track with the first of eight events, the $10,000 Magic Millions / Sabois Two-Year-Old Handicap (1000m), kicking things off at 1:10pm (AEDST).

Don’t miss Race 7 – the $15,000 Carlton Draught Handicap (1750m) at 4:46pm (AEDST) where veteran nine-year-old #3 Generous Huka is out to win their fourth race on the trot.

Lots of quality horses on display at Gosford today including #8 Lifebelt who is our favourite to win Race 6 – the $16,000 Schweppes Class 1 Handicap Heat of the Rising Star (1100m) at 4:15pm (AEDST).

Mackay (QLD)Race 1 jumps at 1:25pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

After the devastation of Cyclone Yasi in far north Queensland, folk up there have a super eight-race programme running at Mackay today to help take their minds off things.

The first race on the card is the $10,000 Carpet One & Tiles Mackay Class 1 Handicap (1500m) at 1:25pm (AEDST) and we are tipping the favourite #1 Balustrade.

WA’s Narrogin track will come alive later this afternoon with seven races set to run starting with the $8,000 Garrard’s Horse & Hound Maiden (1100m) at 5:29pm (AEDST).

Race 7 looks the best for punters getting in on the day there when the $10,000 Narrogin Taxi’s Handicap (1100m) jumps at 8:57pm (AEDST) and where #5 Ascot Waters has the form and draw to win.

Launceston (TAS)Race 1 jumps at 5:46pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet
