Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
The latest preparatory run for two-year-old colts and geldings heading towards the prestigious $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes will take place at Caulfield this Saturday February 12 with the $125,000 Blue Diamond Prelude C&G (1100m).
Nominations for all the CF Orr Stakes Day races have been announced with 20 juveniles entered for the 2011 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Colts & Geldings Prelude.
Red hot favourite in the early 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes odds at Luxbet is the Peter Snowden-trained Sepoy currently paying $3.80.
Sepoy will also dominate betting for the Prelude on Saturday, the unbeaten Elusive Quality colt seeking his third win from as many starts.
On debut Sepoy won the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on October 3 and then backed up with a dominant victory in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) last start at Caulfield on January 26.
The horses that ran two-three behind Sepoy in the B.D. Preview, Grand Britannia and Golden Archer, are also nominated for the Prelude this weekend.
Golden Archer, previously undefeated prior to the Blue Diamond Preview, is one of five entries in the Prelude for leading trainer Peter Moody.
Moody has also nominated Exceed And Excel colt Covered In Class, Fastnet Rock gelding Eclair Desire, Fire Of London and Huegill for Saturday’s showdown.
Other notable nominees for the 2011 Blue Diamond Colts & Geldings Prelude include the Lee Freedman-trained Atomic, Brett Cavanough’s Bossdon City, General Nediym gelding Boys On Tour and unraced Starcraft colt Cape Canaveral.
However, a number of the Prelude nominees are due to run at Sandown on Wednesday in the re-scheduled $100,000 Listed Chairman’s Stakes.
Horses in doubt for the Preview due to the short turnaround include Commands colt Atomic making their highly anticipated debut tomorrow and the Danny O’Brien-trained Cape Canaveral, one of the most heavily backed runners in the Blue Diamond Stakes futures betting at Luxbet, also on debut.
The Blue Diamond Preview for Fillies is also on the Caulfield race-card this Saturday, which is headlined by the $400,000 Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m).
Final fields for all the CF Orr Stakes Day races, including the Blue Diamond Preview (C&G), will be out tomorrow and published here first at Races.com.au.
Now is the time to open your Luxbet account and enjoy the best horse racing odds on everything from the metro Saturday meets to the future odds on the Group 1 showdowns this autumn.
