Before the weekend, today there are six TAB race meetings taking place around Australia including metropolitan meets at Canberra and Doomben.

There are a number of city and metro race-days taking place in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT this Friday, January 21st starting at around 1pm (AEDST) this afternoon and continuing right through until late evening.

  • Muswellbrook (NSW)Race 1 jumps at 1:17pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

The sole TAB meeting in New South Wales this Friday is at Muswellbrook where the first of eight races, the $10,000 Become a MRC Member Maiden Handicap (1000m), gets things underway at 1:17pm (AEDST).

One race not to miss at Muswellbrook today is Race 7 the $10,000 Go TAB Go Racing Class 3 Handicap (1450m) at 5:02pm (AEDST) where #4 Dustharson is our pick of the field coming off some impressive form and drawn well in barrier four.

  • Mornington (VIC)Race 1 jumps at 1:35pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

In Victoria the best Friday racing action is taking place at Mornington where a bumper 10-race card starts at 1:35pm (AEDST) with the $12,000 MRC Events SV 2YO Fillies Maiden Plate (1010m).

Highlights on the Mornington card this afternoon include Race 2 the $17,500 Hanson Construction Materials 0 – 72 Handicap (1010m) at 2:10pm (AEDST) where #6 Salafaith is our favourite, and Race 8 the $12,000 Prancing Horse Wines 0 – 68 Handicap (1616m) at 5:59pm (AEDST) where there are a number of live chances including #4 Biantomemphis despite their wide draw.

  • Doomben (QLD)Race 1 jumps at 2:35pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

In Queensland a quality seven-race programme is scheduled to run at Doomben today, starting at 2:35pm (AEDST) with the $10,000 Www.Brc.Com.Au Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Handicap (1110m).

The better Doomben races will run later this afternoon including Race 6 the $12,000 Coca-Cola Amatil Fillies & Mares Class 1 Handicap (1350m) at 5:48pm (AEDST) where #8 Noshows drawn well in barrier three and coming off a last-start win looks the pick.

  • Port Lincoln (SA)Race 1 jumps at 2:57pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

South Australia’s Port Lincoln track is set to host a top eight-event race day this afternoon with Race 1 the $10,000 Magic Millions / SABOIS 2YO Class 1 Handicap (1000m) first up at 2:57pm (AEDST).

One of the features is Race 3 the $15,000 Bundaberg Rum Handicap (1000m) at 4:12pm (AEDST) where a small six-horse field will face off and where #1 Covet The Lot will be hard to beat.

  • Sunshine Coast (QLD)Race 1 jumps at 7:35pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

Tonight the Sunshine Coast Cushion Track in Queensland will host the final Friday race meet with a six-race Twilight programme scheduled to start at 7:35pm (AEDST) with the $10,000 Butler McDermott Lawyers QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1100m).

An event not to miss on the Sunshine Coast race card tonight is Race 3 the $12,000 Boss Building Maintenance Class 2 Handicap (1400m) at 8:35pm (AEDST) where #3 Nero’s Fire is our roughie pick.
