Randwick Guineas Day 2011

Randwick Guineas Day 2011

The 2011 Randwick Guineas Day, one of the premier race meets held during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, has been moved this year and will take place at Warwick Farm Racecourse on Saturday March 12.

Previously held at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, the 2011 Randwick Guineas Day move to Warwick Farm means two exciting race days will take place at the lesser-known track this carnival.

Highlighting the quality eight-race Randwick Guineas Day programme is the $500,000 Randwick Guineas (1600m) a set weights race open to three-year-olds.

An earlier elite level showdown that runners in this year’s Randwick Guineas field may come via is the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington the week before on Saturday March 5.

However, with controversy over the race venue moving to the smaller Warwick Farm track in favour of a Music Festival taking place at Randwick, the connections of many horses may opt to run their three-year-olds in the 2011 Australian Guineas instead of the Randwick Guineas and not as well as.

Horses possibly heading towards a run in the 2011 Randwick Guineas include the David Payne-trained Masquerader who finished a strong third in the Caulfield Guineas last year and promising Street Cry colt Sea Lord also prepared by Payne.

Five other stakes races will also run at Warwick Farm for Randwick Guineas Day 2011 including the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) for two-year-old fillies and the Group 3 Skyline Stakes (1200m) for two-year-old colts and geldings.

See below for the full list of stakes races set to run at this year’s Randwick Guineas Day all of which will have great betting markets open on.

For the most competitive horse racing odds during the entire autumn racing carnival, we highly recommend Luxbet and their generous Best of the Best odds open on all Saturday Metro Meets in Australia including Randwick Guineas Day!
