Smart Oratorio gelding Torio’s Quest has taken out the 2011 Magic Millions 3YO Guineas at the Gold Coast this afternoon, storming home in a brilliant finish to win Race 6 at the Magic Millions Race Day.

The form was there to be seen in this talented Brett Partelle-trained three-year-old, Torio’s Quest coming off a victory in the Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

Still, the bookies had them at a generous price, Luxbet paying $6 for the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas winner.

Finishing off the Trifecta were Startsmeup ($5.50) along with $4 favourite Top Drop.

Celtic Dancer got away very well from the inside barrier and lead the Magic Millions Guineas field early with eventual winner Torio’s Quest settling into second just ahead of Spirit Of Boom in third.

On the home turn Demanding Miss looked to be making a move but couldn’t quite get through as Celtic Dancer maintained the lead.

Then as the field began to spread out on the home straight Torio’s Quest, ridden to perfection by Hugh Bowman, moved out from the back up on the outside and pulled away in a thrilling late burst to win easily ahead of Startsmeup and Top Drop.

A steal at just $15,000 at the Adelaide Yearling Sales, Torio’s Quest has now won four of their five career starts, an imposing career record.

The Magic Millions 3YO Guineas win boosted the gelding’s prize money up to over $685,000.

It was the second 2011 Magic Millions Race Day victory for the owners Vieria Racing who also saw success with Gai’s Choice in Race 2, the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap.

The race everyone has been waiting for is next on the Gold Coast card with the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic set to jump at 4:40pm (AEDST).
