Star filly Karuta Queen has become the 2011 Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Race Day this afternoon, the talented two-year-old maintaining her perfect race record beating home a crack field of young rivals to score victory in the day’s $2 million feature.

Leading the betting since odds on the Magic Millions opened, the Neville Layt-trained daughter of Not A Single Doubt didn’t put a foot wrong, jumping beautifully from gate seven with jockey Tommy Berry quick to take the favourite to the front.

Schiffer sped up early too to settle into second, adopting a chasing position behind the leader.

In a class of her own, Karuta Queen ($3.40) was never challenged leading all-the-way to score a devastating win over the Matthew Smith-trained Combat Kitty ($14) who came second in a photo finish with third placegetter Schiffer ($6).

Karuta Queen, last-start winner of the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic as well, now has an unblemished career record of four from four and today’s big prize saw her winnings soar to over $1.4 million.
