2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions Race 1 Tips – Magic Millions Maiden Plate

Today the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions Race Day kicks off at 12:40pm (AEDST) with the $82,000 Magic Millions Maiden Plate (1200m) and below are the best Gold Coast Race 1 tips exclusive to Races.com.au readers.

The 2011 Magic Millions Maiden Plate field features 16 horses with the favourite to win today’s opening event being #3 Sequano paying $4.20 at Luxbet.

The Alan Bailey-trained local gelding is coming off a number of impressive runs including their close second on a Heavy Gold Coast track on New Year’s Day and has drawn well in barrier three.

However, we think there’s more value to be found with maiden races notoriously tricky to pick, and we are tipping #2 Speeding To Win to cause an upset from their wide barrier 16 draw.

Gold Coast – Race 1 – Magic Millions Maiden Plate Betting Tips

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #2 Speeding To Win – Rated Special To Win at $7.50 Luxbet
  • Best Place Bets: #6 Stratford and #3 Vaarwel

Speeding To Win may have the wide draw but the John O’Shea-trained Redoute’s Choice grey is tipped to improve today and has experience on rain-affected tracks.

Stratford is a lightly-raced Sydney gelding that should be ready to show some promise at their third start, while drawn well Varwell is hard to go past for a local placing.
