The last big race day before Christmas sees the running of the 2010 Villiers stakes over 1600 Meters at Randwick racecourse. With a very even field it is hard to find obvious tips but the races.com.au team have identified some decent value runners to watch. Around the rest of Australia the Perth Summer Carnival continues with the running of the CB Cox Stakes and in Brisbane there is an interesting sprint race featuring the emerging Temple Of Boom and the proven Burdekin Blues.

The latest odds and tips for the Villiers meeting at Randwick are as follows :

Race 1 Winning his two runs since a spell the much improved Sincero is on top backed from $3 into $2.5 with Luxbet the smart money has come for this Wyong trained galloper. The 58 kg wont be a problem as he carried  60kg last start to win easily. We put in Demanding Miss for second and the other Brisbane horse Altai Warrior for third.

Race 2 Not a big fan of either of the likely favorites Patricians Glory and Kossack but they get their chances here , we are tipping Kossack at $3.8  to beat its stablemate Patricians Glory $3.2 and White Horse Inn $3.6  for third.

Race 3 There was a lot to like about Hot Snitzels run last start and he should have derived alot of experience and you would expect him not to be as green this start is deserving favorite at at $3 backed in already from $3.2 with Luxbet . We have heard though that stablemate Pure Force has been working well and could be a sneaky chance of knocking off his stablemate and is currently $17 with Luxbet  hard to split them , if the money keeps coming for Pure Force back it. For third we like Aubazine which is in the hands of Gai Waterhouse which is a great establishment for getting 2 year olds going early.

Race 4 is an even race and at currently $12 with Luxbet the Chris Waller trained We Betcha with great jockey G Schofield on board looks hard to beat from the consistent Phenomenal Lass $4.8  and Dystopia $5.5 .

Race 5 Daintree Road is a great form winning his last 3 currently has been backed in from $3 to $2.8 and looks very hard to beat. Danagaze for second and Winning Glory who is an up and comer for third.

Race 6 is the Villiers Stakes and as usual is a very open field with the favorite Rhythm of Dance at $6. From barrier 1 we are expecting Emperor Bonaparte to run a much improved race , seems to have been set for this having had 2 fitness runs into this and will just sit behind the leading bunch doing no work in the run , can get home well and has won over 1800m so will be strong at the end of the Randwick Mile. Currently $21 we think he is a genuine chance of causing an upset and rate him much higher than his odds suggest. For second we liked the return to form of Altered Boy last week , he came with one run at them late and won well , we actually tipped him last week and think he can go close again , Chris Waller is flying too. For Third we like the Peter Snowden trained Parthian which is at $7.5 , s a good tough horse going places and from barrier 2 will be fighting his way all the way to the line.

Race 7 is a tough 1200 meter race as you would expect this time of year , there is a tip around for the Brisbane horse Funtates currently $9 with Luxbet but we think Girl Hussler at $7 can get over the top of her and the everygreen iron horse Keen Commander for third at $41.

Race 8 The best bet in this race is to take the Quinella of Mumslad and So So Sure , we think they are clearly the top picks and cant see the 13 year old Mustard beating them !
