2010 R.S. Crawford Stakes Final Field & Race Preview

On Saturday the action of the Perth Summer Racing Carnival continues at Ascot Racecourse with the 2010 C.B. Cox Stakes Day and as part of the elite line-up of races, the $80,000 Listed R.S. Crawford Stakes (1000m) will take place.

The 2010 R.S. Crawford Stakes final field features 12 quality sprinters lead by the Adam Durrant-trained Ma Ma Machine drawn ideally in barrier two.

Top-weight with 58kg, six-year-old Ma Ma Machine took out the Group 3 Colonel Reeves Stakes at Ascot in fine style back on November 13 and will appreciate the step back in class here after running ninth to Hadabeclorka in the Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes last start.

Lark Hill-based trainer Durrant also has his improving Show A Heart gelding Golden Heart lining up for him in the R.S. Crawford on Saturday, jumping from barrier six with Alan Kennedy in the mount.

One of the early favourites in the field is the Frank Maynard-trained Kid Choisir, who looked impressive at track work here earlier in the week.

Four-year-old Choisir gelding Kid Choisir is resuming racing after a six month spell, but showed they still were in-form when the multiple stakes winner took out two barrier trials at Belmont in November.

The other top-liners facing off in the R.S. Crawford this year are Simon Miller’s Oratorio mare Gold Rocks drawn on the rails in barrier one, consistent Hussonet six-year-old Werd and the Paul Jordan-trained Revolition.

The 2010 R.S. Crawford Stakes is due to run as Race 7 at Ascot on Saturday, jumping at 4:57pm (WA time), one even after the highly anticipated $225,000 Group 2 C.B. Cox Stakes (2100m) takes place.

Both races feature plenty of top local talent at generous odds, so get the best summer betting markets online through leading bookmaker Luxbet today!
