2010 AJ Scahill Stakes Day

Following the Group 1 action of the Festival of Perth Racing, the Perth Summer Racing Carnival continues at Ascot Racecourse this Saturday December 11th with the 2010 AJ Scahill Stakes Day.

The marquee event at the eight-race meeting is the $125,000 Group 3 AJ Scahill Stakes (1400m) and two other black-type races highlight the card.

The 2010 AJ Scahill Stakes final field features 10 quality gallopers including the upset winner of the Winterbottom Stakes Hadabeclorka and runner-up King Kool Kat, classy Oratorio four-year-old Waratah’s Secret and the Neville Parnham-trained Elliotto.

The AJ Scahill Stakes will run as Race 6 at Ascot on Saturday while races four and seven are both quality Listed events that offer lucrative prize pools and exciting betting markets.

Race 4 is the $100,000 Listed WA St Leger (2100m) for three-year-olds where Ranger and Hoegaarden will face off, while Race 7 is the $80,000 Listed Starstruck Classic (1600m) for three-year-old fillies and mares where Perth Cup-bound Admiring looks the top pick.

Below is the complete 2010 A.J. Scahill Stakes race-day programme.
