Caulfield Race Tips – Saturday December 4th

This Saturday December 4 five major metropolitan race meetings will take place around Australia including a huge eight-race card in Victoria at the esteemed Caulfield Racecourse.

With the major black-type features for the weekend taking place at Ascot for Kingston Town Classic Day, all Victorian punters know that the racing action at Caulfield is always top class and Saturday’s meet will be no exception.

The highlight event at Caulfield tomorrow is Race 6 – the $90,000 The 65 Roses Victoria Cup (1100m), due to jump at 4:15pm (AEDST).

Below the Races.com.au team provide our readers with the best Caulfield betting tips for tomorrow, listing our top three selections for all the races on the programme.

Our initial pick in each race is the horse we rate special to win and then you have the chance to have a punt on the placings and get in on the exotic markets such as the Trifectas with our two other top horses for all the Caulfield features tomorrow.

Caulfield Race 1 – Powersource Global Plate (1000m)

  • #4 Merits Respect from #3 Joyeux and #5 Tatum – Bet now at Luxbet

Wide open field without a clear favourite, but Mick Price’s General Nediym filly Merits Respect looks the pick after the local youngster ran an eye-catching third at a barrier trial late last month.

Caulfield Race 2 – Braywin Handicap (2000m)

  • #1 Syndrome from #2 Command Prince and #5 The Big Steel – Bet now at Luxbet

Another open market with lots of value, but the Michael Moroney-trained Syndrome looks the pick after drawing ideally in barrier three and considering their impressive win over 1800m at Sandown last Saturday.

Caulfield Race 3 – Loch M Fraser Handicap (1800m)

  • #11 Showstoppa from #2 Tampiko and #1 Manila Jewel – Bet now at Luxbet

Showstoppa has a good barrier three draw, nice weight and good recent form including a last start win over 2100m, so the drop back in distance is ideal for the four-year-old Show A Heart mare.

Caulfield Race 4 – Braywin Loch M Fraser Handicap (1400m)

  • #7 Little Artist from #8 Lucky Angel and #5 I’m Posh – Bet now at Luxbet

Little Artist has drawn wide but still our top pick, the Peter Moody-trained More Than Ready filly ready to return to form here after a couple of unlucky runs. Will appreciate the slight drop in weight.

Caulfield Race 5 – East Malvern Community Bank Cup (1400m)

  • #2 Orbit Express from #4 Berringama and #1 Jungle Ruler – Bet now at Luxbet

Orbit Express excellent roughie to cause an upset at juicy odds, the veteran seven-year-old capable at the weight.

Caulfield Race 6 – The 65 Roses Victoria Cup (1100m)

  • #6 Impressive Eagle from #11 Big Spirit and #2 Grand Duels – Bet now at Luxbet

Impressive Eagle looks hard to beat despite their wide draw, the Danny O’Brien-trained Rubiton mare well weighted and coming off a good win against all female company at Moonee Valley.

Caulfield Race 7 – The Breathless Handicap (1200m)

  • #6 Oregon Spirit from #2 Utah Saints and #1 Blooded – Bet now at Luxbet

Oregon Spirit favourite in the field and best not to bet against. Out a little wider but Peter Moody’s well-bred Bel Esprit three-year-old coming off great form including her maiden win early last month.

Caulfield Race 8 – Carpet Call Cup (1200m)

  • #2 Lady Gaga from #1 Miss Octopussy and #8 Arrived- Bet now at Luxbet

One of the favourites is Lady Gaga and she looks in a good position jumping from barrier four, the Al Maher mare coming off some nice runs. Only question is the weight.
