Playing God on Track for 2010 Kingston Town Classic after Aquanita Stakes Win

Neville Parnham’s in-form three-year-old Playing God is on track for this Saturday’s $500,000 Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) after another impressive victory at Ascot on the weekend coasting to victory in the $80,000 Listed Aquanita Stakes (1800m).

Blackfriars colt Playing God has enjoyed great success this season, winning a 1200m sprint at Belmont before turning to the black type features at Ascot.

Second-up they ran a strong second in the Listed Fairetha Stakes (1400m) before snaring the Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) on November 13.

Then on Saturday, Playing God continued their winning streak with a comprehensive victory in the 2010 Aquanita Stakes.

Ridden by regular jockey Steven Parnham Playing God finally gave the favourite backers something to cheer about after the day’s marquee event, the $750,000 Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m), was taken out by $41 roughie Hadabeclorka.

On the line it was Playing God ($1.85F) two and a quarter lengths ahead of Hoegaarden ($4.40) with Joesready ($16) a close third just a further quarter of a length away.

A winner of four of their eight career starts for close to $330,000 in prize money, Playing God was purchased for just $27,000 at the 2009 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale and will now run in the 2010 Kingston Town Classic this Saturday, facing off against his full brother God Has Spoken.
