Sandown Race 1 – Radio Sport 927 Plate (1000m)

  • #3 Grand Britannia from #10 The Counterfeiter and #6 Predator – Bet now at Luxbet

Grand Britannia won an 800m barrier trial in impressive form at Carnbourne last week and the grey colt showed the promise to win on debut.

Sandown Race 2 – Mirenesse Handicap (1500m)

  • #3 Overtake from #1 Kallogg and #5 Riveted – Bet now at Luxbet

Overtake equal favourite with Kallogg but has a better weight making the Luke Oliver-trained gelding a good pick to improve on their recent form and snare victory.

Sandown Race 3 – Inglis Bonus Handicap (1400m)

  • #2 Bellissimo from #3 Utah Saints and #5 Tokugawa – Bet now at Luxbet

The Anthony Cummings-trained Reset three-year-old Bellissimo the definite pick having drawn barrier one and coming off a last start win over the mile at Randwick.

Sandown Race 4 – Patinack Farm Handicap (2400m)

  • #3 Tio Rossa from #8 Musical Hit and #4 Interlocking – Bet now at Luxbet

Tio Rossa narrow favourite and looks the pick, only runner in the field to win at their last trip out. Well-bred mare with plenty of promise.

Sandown Race 5 – Handicap (1000m)

  • #2 Carbon Date from #3 Alittlevolcanic and #5 Save A Penny – Bet now at Luxbet

Best value Eagle Farm pick of the day, Carbon Date at generous odds to win but has real claims drawn well in barrier two and having won first-up for the season over this distance.

Sandown Race 6 – Betfair Handicap (1300m)

  • #1 Royal Ida from #7 Status Symbol and #13 The Handsome One – Bet now at Luxbet

Royal Ida may be top weight with 59.5kg, but Luke Oliver’s veteran 10-year-old has plenty of experience and ran a strong third with 59kg on their back here last start to Avenue. Keeps coming at them and keeps performing.

Sandown Race 7 – Le Pine Funerals Handicap (1800m)

  • #7 Wookah from #6 Tampiko and #1 Makeadreamcometrue- Bet now at Luxbet

Tipping a massive upset here with Wookah at a quote of around $26. Wide draw and less than ideal lead-up but word around the track is that the Encosta De Lago five-year-old trained by David Hayes is improving and ready to win.

Sandown Race 8 – Ahern’s At Highways After the Last Handicap (1400m)

  • #1 Lady Gaga from #2 Orbiting Belle and #3 Serenada – Bet now at Luxbet

Stick with the favourite in this one, Mick Price’s consistent Al Maher mare ready to show her strengths at the track and step up to the 1400m.
