2010 Tattersall’s Recognition Stakes Field, Barriers & Preview

Two great black type races are scheduled to take place at Eagle Farm this Saturday, November 27, giving the Queensland punters plenty to get excited about including the $80,000 Listed Tattersall’s Recognition Stakes Handicap (1600m).

A final field of 10 top gallopers will take to the Brisbane track on Saturday to contest the 2010 Tattersall’s Recognition Stakes with Listen Son the pronounced favourite with the punters.

Drawn in barrier eight and due to be ridden by in-form hoop Larry Cassidy, consistent four-year-old Listen Son is coming off back-to-back wins at Eagle Farm and drops right back in weight from 58.5kg last start to a far more advantageous 54kg on Saturday making them hard to beat.

The punters are also getting behind local eight-year-old Rightson, and Our Lukas in the betting markets, and these two along with Listen Son are the most popular Eagle Farm trifecta for the weekend.

The Barry Baldwin-trained Rightson is drawn ideally in barrier one and is coming off an impressive three length win in the Listed All Hallows School Classic (1600m) here.

Robert Heathcote’s Our Lukas is the 60kg topweight, but still has genuine claims to Place having carried similar weight to victory in the past.

Other notable runners in the Tattersall’s Recognition Stakes field that could rise and finish in the money adding value to the top three payouts include Gerald Ryan’s seven-year-old gelding Helideck and Gold Coast galloper Rockdale.

The 2010 Tattersall’s Recognition Stakes is scheduled as Race 7 at Eagle Farm for Saturday and is due to jump at 5:10pm (AEDST).
