Ma Ma Machine Wins 2010 Colonel Reeves Stakes at Ascot

Ma Ma Machine continued a solid spring/summer campaign with victory at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday November 13, the six-year-old taking out top honours in the Group 3 Colonel Reeves Stakes (1100m).

In a thrilling finish, the Adam Durrant-trained Ma Ma Machine ($11) was able to hold off the favourite Waratah’s Secret ($1.80) by a long neck with King Kool Kat ($9.50) three quarters of a length away third.

Ma Ma Machine was coming off a good third place finish to Werd in The Cannonball, their drop back in weight from 58kg that run to just 53.5kg on Saturday giving them the advantage to claim an upset.

Sir Laurence gelding Ma Ma Machine has now won eight of their 28 career starts earning $428,490 in prize money.

Connections are now looking towards the $750,000 Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) on November 27 for Ma Ma Machine where they will likely face off with Waratah’s Secret once again.

Current favourite to win the Winterbottom Stakes is Ortensia, the quality mare coming off a third in the Patinack Classic on Emirates Stakes Day.
