Sandown Guineas 2010 Tips & Betting – Sandown Race 6

Aside from the Sandown Classic, the other major drawcard of the Betfair Park Sandown Hillside meeting today is Race 6 – the $350,000 Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m) set to start at 3:30pm (AEDST).

The 2010 Sandown Guineas field is made up of 10 promising three-year-olds with the Chris Waller-trained Pressday the clear favourite in the betting markets backed into $3.60 to win through Luxbet.

Pressday has come up trumps in the barrier draw with gate one and has been very popular with the punters, the boom sprinter tipped to return to their Group 1 TJ Smith winning form from last season after rearing in the gates and finishing a distant 11th in the Coolmore Stud Stakes first up this spring on Derby Day.

We can forgive Pressday for their last start and are sticking with the favourite in the Sandown Guineas tomorrow.

Sandown – Race 6 – Betfair Sandown Guineas Tips

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #1 Pressday – Rated Special to Win at $3.60 Luxbet
  • Best Place Picks: #3 Bigelow and #6 Bellisimo

Our two top place picks from the quality Sandown Guineas field to add into your multiples with the favourite are the Listed Hilton Stakes winner Bigelow and Bellisimo, drawn beside Pressday in barrier two.

The Clinton McDonald-trained Bigelow has ideal form for this with back-to-back wins this spring while Anthony Cummings’ Bellissimo is the value roughie with a good barrier and last win at Randwick over the mile to add to their merit.
