Zipping Firms in 2010 Sandown Classic Betting

Lloyd Williams’ champion galloper Zipping is not just the sentimental favourite to win the $350,000 Group 2 Sandown Classic (2400m), but is also the pronounced favourite in the betting markets firming even further in the odds overnight.

Big money bets continue to roll in for nine-year-old Zipping, the in-form gelding vying for his astounding fourth straight Sandown Classic win at Betfair Park Sandown Hillside tomorrow.

Zipping’s imposing record at Sandown and his brilliant spring season – which has included a win in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m), second in the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) and gallant fourth in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) – saw premier online bookmaker Luxbet install Zipping as the $1.70 favourite in the Sandown Classic odds yesterday.

Despite the short quote, the punters are still taking him and Zipping has now firmed into $1.65.

The other market firmer in the Sandown Classic betting at Luxbet is New Zealand runner Ginga Dude.

The Graeme Boyd-trained seven-year-old had shortened in from $6.50 to $6 to win the Sandown Classic tomorrow and continue their strong Australian spring campaign having taken out the David Jones Cup on Caulfield Cup Day and then running third to So You Think in the Mackinnon Stakes last start.

Drifters in the Sandown Classic odds are the Luca Cumani-trained Manighar out from $7 to $7.50- and the longest-priced runner La Rocket drifting out to $35.

For the full Sandown Classic betting markets and to ensure you get the best odds on all the feature races at Sandown tomorrow, head to Luxbet now and open an account with the online bookie that offers its punters better value and bigger payouts!
