2010 Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation Sandown Stakes Final Field, Barrier Draw & Betting

Racing on Saturday November 13 is headlined by the action at Betfair Park Sandown Hillside where the final Melbourne Spring Carnival race meeting, Sandown Classic Day, will take place.

As part of the cracker nine-race card at Sandown on Saturday, the $125,000 Group 3 Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation Stakes (1500m) will take place, the event previously known as the Sandown Stakes.

The 2010 Sandown Stakes final field features 15 classy runners including Peter moody’s top-rated entry Set For Fame.

Drawn in barrier eight, Reset mare Set For Fame took out the Caulfield Sprint two starts back before finishing fifth in the Salinger Stakes.

Set For Fame has a big test on Saturday, set to carry a heft 57.5kg with Luke Nolen aboard, three kilos more than her last start.

Lonhro four-year-old Demerit is another favourite in the Sandown Stakes field, the Peter Snowden-trained galloper having performed consistently this spring including their strong last start second to Poor Jude in the AAMI Business Insurance Stakes at Flemington on Victoria Derby Day.

Other big name horses in the Sandown Stakes this year include Macau galloper and top weight with 58kg Luen Yat Forever coming off an eye-catching fourth in the Emirates Stakes and Larry’s Never Late resuming racing after a five month spell.

The 2010 Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation Stakes is set to run as Race 5 at Sandown on Saturday jumping at 2:50pm (AEDST) in the lead-up to the day’s marquee race, the $350,000 Group 3 Sandown Classic (2400m).
