2010 R.J. Peters Stakes Final Field & Barrier Draw

The final field and barrier draw for all the feature races taking place on WA Guineas Day 2010 at Ascot Racecourse this Saturday, November 13, have been released including those for the $125,000 Group 3 R.J. Peters Stakes (1500m).

The 2010 R.J. Peters Stakes has drawn a final field of 12 quality runners including last year’s winner Elliotto.

Six-year-old Ellitotto, coming off two sixth place finishes in the Prince of Wales Stakes and the Asian Beau Stakes, is one of three runners for local trainer Neville Parnham.

Parnham also has top-weight and Lee Steere Stakes’ runner-up Tarzi lining up from the far outside barrier 12 set to carry 59.5kg, while stablemate God Has Spoken who ran a gallant second to Colour Correct in the Asian Beau Stakes last start has drawn better in barrier four for Saturday.

Other notable 2010 R.J. Peters Stakes hopefuls include Adam Durrant’s seven-year-old Great Destiny resuming racing after six and a half month spell, four-year-old mare Impressive Jeuney due to ridden by Shaun O’Donnell and the Bill and Symon Wilde-trained Morant drawn ideally on the rails with barrier one.

The 2010 R.J. Peters Stakes is set to run as Race 5 at Ascot on Saturday, with the two other Group features of the meeting being Race 7 the $125,000 Group 3 Colonel Reeves Stakes (1100m), and Race 8 the $250,000 Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m).
