Who’s Ready Wins The G.H. Mumm Handicap – VRC Crown Oaks Day Race 3 Results

Who’s Ready has won the third race on the VRC Crown Oaks Day programme, scoring an emphatic victory over a field of fellow fillies in the $100,000 The G.H. Mumm Handicap (1700m) at Flemington.

The Alan Scorese-trained More Than Ready filly Who’s Ready simply outclassed her rivals today, ridden patiently by Michael Rodd to give Scorese his first win of 2010.

Sitting back behind the leaders, Rodd had Who’s Ready poised and ready to slip up through her rivals when the time was right.

Attributes and Serene Tanie set the early pace, Attributes maintaining a narrow lead up until the final few hundred metres.

As the field began to bunch and the front runners tire, Who’s Ready kicked through on the inside with 300m to go and stormed away with a strong win around three lengths ahead of Count Your Fingers with Sean Baile Mor in third.

Favourite Very Cherry just didn’t finish off after being caught out wide throughout, eventually coming in fourth.

Who’s Ready will now be sent to the paddock for a spell, returning for the autumn and likely to step up in class to possibly target the Oaks after her impressive win today.

Race 4 at Flemington today is next up on the card, the $150,000 Listed Gucci Stakes (1200m), another race for three-year-old fillies.

So enjoy a punt early in the day at great odds through Luxbet and get a head start for the 2010 Crown Oaks later in the day!
